Since it’s founded in 2001, D Gallerie has been a sought-after spot for artworks from Indonesian old masters. Founded by Aswad Dipo, the ownership of D Gallerie has been handed over to his daughter, Esti Nurjadin. Both owners have brought significant advances towards the gallery. D Gallerie was well known for its vast collection of Indonesian old master paintings. Then it is associated with success of emerging Indonesian contemporary photographers.
From the opuses of the Frenchman graffiti artist Kongo, to the graffiti works of Jakarta based artist Darbotz, from photography works of Wimo Ambala Bayang and Jim Allen Abel of MES56, Jogjakarta to Andy Dewantoro’s unseen photography works, also promoting Indonesian female artists like Octora, Kinez Riza and Prilla Tania. D Gallerie has contributed to the vibrant Indonesian art scene.
Because of its reputation, D Gallerie was chosen to be one of the 5 galleries representing Indonesia in the Marker program at Art Dubai 2012. Artworks that were shown in Art Dubai has been acquired by prominent collectors in the region such as Katara Art Center, Doha, Qatar and Ayyam Art Center in Dubai as well as Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan of Abu Dhabi.
